Sabina Matos grew up working in Providence and never forgot what it feels like to stretch a dollar. As your Lieutenant Governor, she is focused on one thing: making Rhode Island a place where every family can get ahead.

Likely Democratic Primary voters need to see on OTT, CTV and digital that as President of the Providence City Council and as Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos has spent her career fighting to address our affordability crisis and expand economic opportunity for Rhode Islanders.
Voters also need to be reminded that Sabina immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic, determined to build a better future. She worked in a jewelry factory, put herself through college, and got into public service to fight for working families like hers.
Now, as your Lieutenant Governor, Sabina has been taking on Trump, standing up to corporate greed, and fighting tirelessly to lower grocery prices, empower workers, and give every Rhode Islander a fair shot.
Sabina has been championing:
- The Fair Price Grocery Agenda to lower foods prices
- Employee ownership and succession planning of our small businesses
- Historic investments in affordable housing
- Efforts to strengthen gun safety laws
It’s also important that voters know that Sabina is endorsed by Rhode Island Labor Unions, like the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, Rhode Island Building Trades, SEIU, UFCW and is also endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund 2026, and the Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence.
